Lotus Elan Plus 2 50/0763

                                     1968 Lotus Elan Plus 2

History.

Left the factory 4 July 1968 painted Regency Red.  Originally sold by Moto Baldet in the UK and imported to Australia ~sometime~ in the late 70's.  Purchased by a CLA member in the early 80's, the vehicle was registered until the early 90's when it underwent a body off rebuild.  The reported purpose of this rebuild was as a track car, although the vehicle never saw a track.  The chassis was re-jigged, stiffened and re-coated in 2 pak epoxy; the suspension was rebuilt with poly bushes, Koni shocks and upgraded springs; all brake lines were replaced; rear discs converted to ventilated items. The body was resprayed and the interior fully retrimmed in leather.  Apparently, the owner then ran out of money and the vehicle then sat in a garage for the next 10+ years.

Purchased by a long time CLA member and 30 year Elan builder/racer in 2006, the rebuild was completed and a new engine built.
